Terms of Use
These terms apply to the website and game When Kings Fall, operated by the When Kings Fall team ("we"). By using the site you accept them.
The service
When Kings Fall is a free chess game in the browser. We may add, change or remove features at any time and cannot guarantee that the service is always available or free of errors.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done with your account. Give a real e-mail address and choose a display name that does not impersonate others and is not offensive. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Fair play
In games against other people you may not use chess engines, other people's help or any automated assistance, and you may not manipulate ratings (for example by playing against your own second account). We may annul games, reset ratings and close accounts in case of cheating.
Behaviour
Treat other players with respect. Harassment, hate speech and spam are not allowed anywhere on the site.
Content and intellectual property
The characters, artwork, voices, music, texts and code of When Kings Fall are protected and may not be copied or reused without permission. The moves of historical games are public facts. Stockfish is free software under the GNU GPLv3; its licence and source code are linked on our About page. Tournament data are provided by Lichess under its own terms.
Advertising and partners
The site may show ads and the names of partner brands. Partner brands shown in the game are fictional unless stated otherwise.
Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damages or for loss of data or ratings. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend access in case of serious or repeated breaches.
Law
Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
Changes
We may update these terms. The new version applies from the date shown above; for important changes we inform account holders in advance.
